Clinics and Online Show #1

As most know by now, the TMC’s June show has been cancelled due to the VS Virus. However, the clinic by judge Rene Johnson will be taking place on Sunday! Please come out and cheer on our favorite local riders; times have been posted on our Calendar/Activities page. Take the opportunity to learn from Rene and these wonderful riders!

We have also just completed our first online show! With the June show cancellation, I was glad to have the opportunity to ride a test and get judge’s feedback. I was pleasantly surprised at the helpful constructive advice in the judge’s comments. It was nice to see

how far Jackson and I have come, and what we need to work on to improve. The next online show is set for July 15th through the 23rd. Start getting those videos of your tests now!

June Shows!

Our June online show is in full swing! The online show series through dressageshowonline.com starts June 5th and runs through June 15th, so start filming those entries now! This is a great way to participate in showing without the stress. No formal coats needed, just nice attire. Arenas can be either 20 x 60 or 20 x 40 and can be a home arena (get creative- my first year I used buckets with letters!). Just make sure all letters are visible in the video, and film from C. Not a member of a club or organization? No problem, we encourage you to still participate! Awards will be given and full judges comments will be sent out. Its a great, safe, inexpensive way to dip your toe into showing, or even start a new pony. See the Activities tab for links and information.

Due to the VSV virus outbreak, there will be no June CDS show in Bear Valley Springs. July and August shows at this time are still a go, and hopefully and additional show can be planned for October to round out the CDS show season for our Tehachapi Mountain Chapter. Lets keep our horses healthy and safe, and ride on!

Its show time!

The first show of the season is here, followed by a clinic with our judge, Melissa Creswick on Monday. Ride times for the Sunday show can be found here, and Monday clinic times here. The show starts at 9 AM, so come out and support our equestrian family!

Our first ever online show is also underway! Anyone can submit a video, English or Western, and feel free to video from the comforts of your own home arena if you cannot get to a formal dressage court- 20 x 40 or 20 x 60 arenas allowed. Full show attire not needed! This is a great way to get to show, receive judges comments, and win ribbons. Western riders will earn WDAA points as well. To New Beginnings

Bear Valley is gearing up for the beginning of the show season, starting with hosting the Tehachapi Mountain Chapter’s CDS show at the end of the month. We will also be adding an online show season to the mix! This is a great way to practice those show skills, get judges feedback and awards, and have fun all in your own back yard.

It is also the beginning of a new “season” for me. I have learned that my stinker pony’s health concerns last year came from Cushing’s, so, although I will still be working with him and (hopefully) showing him this year, I know we will be taking it more carefully and slowly. And, of course, that is the perfect excuse for purchasing a new 2 yr old Fell pony for my future Dressage partner! Welcome little Onyx, all- aka “The Monster!”

Spring is (finally) here! I hope…

With the last “icey” storm, the sun is coming out! Time to clean up arenas, ponies, and tack for the upcoming riding season. The Dressage Club has a list of activities already on the calendar with more to come. Take the time to head over to the calendar and start planning!

For those of you tack hounds who either are looking for extra tack or have unneeded tack, be sure to keep an eye on the new “Tack Exchange” section of the website- send me an email with tack needs or tack to exchange/rehome!
